General

From my very first correspondence with Matthew of Electric Reads, I was treated with the utmost professionalism and courtesy.  He took genuine interest in my work and was sure to read a copy of my book so that he could better understand my promotional needs.  Extremely organized and methodical, he set up a step by step plan giving me guidance and structure, while also allowing room for my own input in each and every phase.  He was very responsive to all of my emails and questions and most accommodating to all of my needs.  He also offered great suggestions, while leaving room for my own creative input. Lastly, he was really great in catering to my individual needs. Grace Mattioli, author of Olive Branches Don’t Grow on Trees

After 3 years of hard graft, I had completed my first novel and needed a professional to prepare my manuscript for Kindle and paperback. As soon as I spoke to Matthew, I knew I was in safe hands. An absolute gentleman, Matthew is also unfailingly calm, sensible and logical – I once jokingly suggested that if he ever moved on from publishing he should join a bomb-disposal unit because he is always so cool and collected. His people skills are second to none. He took all the time it needed to answer my questions and when I didn’t understand – which was frequently – he would gladly explain again until I was happy about the process. Matthew is so approachable. He responded to all my queries promptly and in plain English, kept to his deadlines and generally soothed troubled waters. After spending so long working in isolation, finding Matthew to become part of my ‘team’ for publishing was both a relief and a joy; a welcome spot of shelter in the storm. I would unhesitatingly recommend Electric Reads to any author wanting a smooth, easy, professional service at a very reasonable fee. Delle Shepherd, author of The Bookworm that Turned

Having made the decision to go down the self-publishing route with my debut novel The Winter Siege, I realised that making the right choice of service company to edit and
prepare my book for market was one of the most important decisions I would make. I’m so glad that I chose Electric Reads. From the start Matthew and his team treated me with courtesy and professionalism, leading me through the whole production process. I decided to invest in their Gold Package, which included a full edit, cover design, formatting for Kindle, typesetting for print, website design and media pack, so the whole of the worry of this part of the process was taken away from me. They always responded to me in a timely fashion and I can safely say that their input resulted in The Winter Siege being a much better book then it was before. I would certainly recommend Electric Reads to any aspiring author looking for a young, energetic and committed team for professional guidance on publishing matters. D. W. Bradbridge, author of The Winter Siege

Complete Edit

Having completed my memoirs, I wanted to self publish but was unsure how to go about it. A member of my writing workshop mentioned Electric Reads, and from the first I knew I was in safe hands. I had an immediate friendly, helpful response. Tom did the proofreading, Matthew the typesetting and Vanessa designed the cover, using my photograph. I was more than delighted with the result, especially when it appeared on the Amazon site. In addition their services have encouraged me to continue writing! Many thanks to the team, I would recommend them highly to any writer. Judy Corry, author of Fish’s Daughter

I have had my book There’s More To Life edited and converted for Amazon Kindle publishing by Electric Reads. I have been very impressed by the quality of the work, the speed and personal service they deliver and the competitive charges they offer. Thank you Electric Reads for the outstanding professional job you have performed with my manuscript. Philip Harrison, author of There’s More to Life

Having put the final touches to my first novel ‘Two Times Two’ I went in search of a company to edit my work and, having already decided to go the e-book route, help me to get it into a polished state and published on Amazon. I struck gold when I discovered Matthew and his young company Electric Reads. From start to finish the whole experience has been utterly stress free. I was given a very fair quote, a schedule of works and free access to my assigned editor (a delight) and a front cover designer (from the same mould). Both gave me their undivided attention and showed a refreshing enthusiasm for the production throughout. The edits were sympathetic to my writing and the cover design emerged from a very basic, back of a fag packet, brief into a front cover to be proud of. Emails were answered promptly and throughout Matthew maintained a keen interest in the book’s development and even went the extra mile by guiding the process of loading the finished book on to Amazon. What is more it was all comfortably achieved three days ahead of schedule. Writing is a lonely occupation, finding Electric Reads was like being rescued from a desert island. Lance Warrington, author of Two Times Two

Kim was of great assistance to me in the reading and editing of my novel, not only dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s but making good suggestions about the sentence structures, plot and character development, continuity and all the fine details. Kim was very professional, very quick to respond to all my requests, never too busy for my questions, and the result was my rough-edged manuscipt was transformed into a slick, professional kindle book, all within a few weeks. I would definitely recommend Electric Reads to any budding Author out there who is serious about his or her work and wants to turn their manuscript into a polished professional ebook, ready to publish online, quickly and for a reasonable price. I would definitely use them again. Louise Manson, author of Khaos Hexology: Vol 1

Kim was great to work with, she was friendly and provided much needed advice and perspective. The edit’s came through in a timely and professional manner, always to my satisfaction. Not only did she provide a finished article, she also kindly reviewed my post edits free of charge and without any hesitance, this lady should be snapped up before you lose the chance to work with her. If I were to write another novel Electric Reads would be my first choice of Editor. Many Thanks team! CJ Barley, author of Oliver Norwood and the Crimson Blades

Not only do their editors have the sharpest eye for detail, but I very quickly found them to be that important second voice when surveying my manuscripts. Electric Reads are approachable, responsive and highly professional; I could not imagine being a writer without them now. Matthew Keegan, author of The Way the Hammer Falls

I needed to polish a manuscript and found a most useful ally in Electric Reads. Thomas Mayo, the one I worked directly with, was fantastic. He is a world-class
editor in my estimation. One could feel the elegance of good manners in the tone of his communications. He is a great advertisement to a company I now feel compelled to recommend to any writer in search of quality editing with an affordable fee. Anthony Akinola, author of Party Coalitions in Nigeria

I cannot recommend the services of  Electric Reads enough. As well as offering me great discounts on multiple services, they also knew exactly where I was coming from with my ideas, and produced a perfect cover for my book, which was exactly what I was looking for. The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and well informed about the current market. I am looking forward to working with them further on my marketing and promotions. It has been an absolute privilege to have had Matthew from Electric Reads working on my novel. I self published my second novel and it was released in paperback in December 2016. I was then looking for someone to put it onto Amazon Kindle for me. After searching the internet I found Electric Reads and having read through some of the reviews I chose the company and I can honestly say the reviews were spot on. Matthew has been more than willing to help me with everything as I wasn’t confident enough to do it myself and he far exceeded my expectations. He made it simple and straightforward replying to my emails within hours and the e-book was ready in record time and at a fair price. Rita Wilkinson, author of Kitty’s Torment

I am an author of many years standing. With my wife Mary we wrote the Paranormal Trilogy: “The Children That Time Forgot” + “Mystic Forces” + “Spinechiller”. When I wanted to turn these best selling books into e-books my son Philip recommended Electric Reads. It is about the best thing my brilliant author son Philip has done for me. The Electric Reads CEO Matthew has helped me every step of the way. Matthew and his skillful team have given all our titles a new lease of life, and to a new generation. Electric Reads is a FIVE STAR company. Peter Harrison, author of a number of books, including Mystic Forces and Spinechiller

Electric Reads gave me just the help I needed when I thought the unexpected technical challenges of getting draft to kindle would derail my attempt at self-publishing. Matthew and his team were quick to respond, flexible in their approach, and full of helpful advice at an affordable price. Without them, I would still be struggling with the technology. I would commend them to others without hesitation. David Peter, author of Can I Go Out Now?

Electric Reads were fantastic when I wanted to convert my grandmother’s book into a digital format. As a complete novice I had no idea what to expect, but they were happy to explain the process and when the original font was incompatible they were meticulous in ensuring a great quality ebook. I would recommend them to anyone who is interesting in bringing their books into the digital age. Hattie Hamilton for Elizabeth Hamilton, author of The Warwickshire Scandal

If, like me, you’re a new author looking for a way to get your work out there without being ripped off by “vanity publishers” or having to spend hours poring over techie stuff, try Electric Reads. Matthew converted my novel into Kindle format and helped me through the process of uploading it for sale on Amazon as a Kindle ebook. It was all done within just a few days and cost a lot less than I’d expected. No need to worry about being confused by technobabble or pestered into buying “additional services” you don’t really need. For those of us who’d much rather be writing than poring over some ‘how to’ guide on e publishing it’s a good way to save time and tempers! I’d recommend it. Linda Hardy, author of Queen of All Albion

I found Electric Reads at just the right time. I needed to convert my Microsoft word manuscript into a format acceptable to Kindle. I did not want all the jargon I just wanted somebody to give me a price for the job. Electric Reads did just that and at a price, I found very acceptable. Matthew was easy to work with and the whole process was completed over the weekend. I was delighted with the finished product and I will be using their services again. If you are looking for an affordable solution delivered by a helpful professional team then look no further. David Evans, author of The Tale – A Story of Galactic Proportions

If you are looking for someone to format your book, you could not meet a kinder or more helpful person than Matthew at Electric Reads. I’d never put a book on Kindle before and needed expert help. Communication was easy and Matthew always got back to me promptly. It was the best introduction to formatting that I could wish for. I will continue to use Electric Reads and recommend them to other people. Margi Ross, author of The Conscious Feminine: The Next Step in the Development of the Feminine

When I embarked on this undertaking (writing, illustrating and self publishing my small sized book) I had absolutely no idea what I was letting myself in for! However, it was the final minefield, the conversion of my work to digital format, that alarmed me the most; to have discovered the existence of Matthew and Electric Reads was, quite simply, a Godsend! I am enormously grateful for everything that they, as a team, have done for me – and, above all, my admiration for Matthew’s patience and kind reassurance towards me in the face of my barrage of ‘panic’ phonecalls simply grew with each and every one. I thank them all enormously! Pea Brodhurst, author of Do Goats Go To Heaven?

Having published my paperback book I had a look at what what was needed to convert it to an e book and I knew I was out of my depth. (Well perhaps if I’d spent several years I might have done it.) So I asked Electric Reads to do it for me and I am very grateful for the courteous and very reasonably priced service Matthew provided, always answering my questions promptly. Now it’s done things that seemed difficult beforehand have become straightforward. I also have to admit that the kindle version looks better than the paperback in some ways – an added bonus! Thanks again. Elizabeth Germaine, author of Distant and Dangerous Days in Burma and China

It took me two years to write my book on a subject where I am an expert. I dived into the confusing world of self publishing trying find a seem of gold via the internet. I needed somebody to guide me, somebody professional and who did what they said they would do. Thankfully Matthew fit the bill perfectly and now my book is on sale on Kindle and I feel I have a firm who I can contact if I have any questions and queries. Electric Reads really did make it that clear and simple. James Gilbraith – author of Terminal Chancer, Silver Seasons, Atlantic Salmon

I carried out a lot of research into converting my first ebook and after consulting with a few companies I decided on Electric Reads. They couldn’t have been more helpful. As a complete novice I was unsure of mostly everything, but it was all explained clearly by Matthew and he even went so far as to answer questions I hadn’t yet thought of. The turnaround was fantastic too. I am so impressed. I will be returning very soon for my next conversion and all my future books. Emma Burton – author of A Cry from the Shadows

Web Design

Electric Reads was very attentive to my needs when I said that I wanted something clean and simple, but yet with an eye-catching interface. That is exactly what I got!I made a special request to use WordPress and they were readily able to accommodate. Any other special requests that I made regarding my site were also quickly and readily accommodated, such as having a link to both the print and epub version of my book, and having my slogan “changing the world through fiction” on the front page. Matthew really gave me a lot of direction in terms of template, interface, layout, and gave helpful suggestions such as setting up a new personalized email to go with my website, which he did for me. He incorporated a blog into my website, which I really love as now I have everything centralized. And while he was great at giving suggestions and guidance, he also gave me space and freedom to add my own creative input. He gave me opportunities to proof all items before finalizing, making recommendations and suggestions whenever I asked; making alterations whenever I requested. They really went the extra mile in building a beautifully designed website! Grace Mattioli, author of Olive Branches Don’t Grow on Trees

Social Media Campaign

Because I already had a Twitter account and a Facebook fan page, Matthew suggested that we begin by sprucing up my already-existing accounts. Again, he gave me thorough direction, while also soliciting my own input. We focused more on my Twitter account than my Facebook account as we both agreed that Twitter is a more effective means of book promotion than Facebook. Matthew greatly simplified the process for me by allowing me to pass off my Twitter account to him, and in no time at all, I was building my following, averaging 20 new followers a day. Not only did he get my Twitter following substantially built up, they also focused on the literary community, so potential customers and or reviewers of my book. He built my following up so substantially, and I now have well over 1,000 followers! He even went the extra mile in sending out tweets for me to promote any special events and or announcements regarding my book. Grace Mattioli, author of Olive Branches Don’t Grow on Trees

Media Kit

Electric Reads Really exceeded my expectations in completing the media kit, the importance of which for an indie author can not be overstated.  I should say that I had no prior experience and or familiarity with doing a media kit, and Matthew provided structure, suggestions and guidance every step of the way in completing this kit.  This very comprehensive kit included a publicity release; excerpts from previous reviews; an author biography; a description of my target audience; a book excerpt; and a page on published works.  I was given a choice of four beautifully designed templates, and shortly after selecting one of the templates, my kit was complete. All of the parts of this kit were extremely well-written, professional, but also with flare. Grace Mattioli, author of Olive Branches Don’t Grow on Trees

Organic Reviews

Matthew suggested that we concentrate on building up reviews on my UK Amazon site, as both my US Amazon site and my Goodreads sites had a decent amount of reviews already on them.  My UK site was sorely lacking with only one review before Electric Reads assisted me with building up this site.  In doing this, they promoted my book on their own site, giving away copies in exchange for reviews.  The reviews that they got were also wonderful and well-written.  I could have never gotten these reviews without Electric Reads and I am very grateful to them for this service.
